Brazil Nut Milk


Plant-based milks are beverages prepared many centuries ago, nutritious and healthy. Read more about it.

Serves: 1 cup of milk

Difficulty: Easy

Yield: 4 hours to soak + 5 minutes to prepare

Ingredients

1/4 cup brazil nuts

Water to soak

1 cup of water

Directions

Soak the nuts for about 4 hours.

Discard the soaking water and add 1 cup of water. Blend it.

Strain the milk into a cloth or a fine sieve.

You can use de residue to make cakes, cookies, breads...

It's ready!!

This recipe can be use as beverage*, to make souces, porridges, puddings, etc.

This milk is cold and heavy to Ayurveda.

  • Increases Kapha Dosha;

  • Decreases Pitta Dosha*;

  • Decreases Vata Dosha*.

* To increase digestibility and to prevent toxin formation, consume in warm state with the addition of herbs and spices, as follows:

Sweet preparations: cinnamon, ginger, anise, cloves, cardamom and etc;

Savory preparations: ginger, black pepper, various peppers.
